Greetings Pluma People!
The Project has reached a record membership of 44 people! Thanks
to all of you who have joined in the voice for and by survivors of DV
and sexual violence.
Great news! We have artwork posted to the site, and some new poems all the way from Philadelphia!
While production and promotion of the site took a long hiatus over
December, it is finding new life as the school term starts back up at
the UO...stay tuned for updates and, as always, spread the word and
recruit people you think may be able to contribute to the site!
Happy New Year!

Hello Pluma People!
Great news: the wonderful ladies at the Women's Center have started
painting and decorating the wooden submission boxes! There are
three that are ready to be delivered to eligible community locations,
and Womenspace is first on the list. Centro Latino has contacted
the Pluma and is willing to arrange a way to host a box as well.
Very cool!
If you would like to take a box home and decorate it, make a small
donation to purchase a lock or donate a lock, or submit any material to
the site, please contact the Pluma Scribe at plumaproject@yahoo.com.
In the mean time, enjoy your holiday weekend and stay well!

Greetings Pluma People!
Great news! The wooden submission boxes are ready to be decorated
and then delivered to their homes throughout the community!
Special thanks to Jim Chapman for the construction. We have 15
boxes to paint! If you would like to help with this, please write
Lauren at plumaproject@yahoo.com.
Also, there are new poems on the site. Check them out, as well as the other updates!
For those of you who missed the first fundraiser at Track Town Pizza,
there will be another coming along soon. Thanks go out to those
of you who made it and helped out on the 5th. The submission
boxes were made possible by you!
Stay inspired,
The Pluma Scribe

The Pluma Project made a notable appearance in the Oregon Daily Emerald
yesterday! For those of you out of state, that is the UO campus paper,
read by about 80% of students here. The link to the article is here: http://media.www.dailyemerald.com/media/storage/paper859/news/2007/11/05/News/Domestic.Violence.Victims.Interact.On.New.Web.Site-3078395.shtml
Though
I am misquoted about the definitions of abuse, the overall exposure
this provides for the Project is an important step in promoting it to
the campus community.
Also, thanks to those of you that ate at
Track Town yesterday to help raise some funds for the Pluma! More poems
are coming in and many women are sharing their excitement for the
Project, going through old scribbles and notes to submit to the site.
By the end of the week, the site will have numerous updates and more
works posted.
Stay tuned!

yet.
1. Print the flier
2. Recruit everyone you know
3. Head down to Track Town on Franklin ANY TIME on Monday, Nov 5
4. Make sure you give the pizza people your flier!
5. EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY! SUPPORT THE PLUMA, SUPPORT MY GPA, HELP SPREAD THE WORD: WE CAN HELP STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!

First off, thanks for joining the Pluma group on Facebook. I truly
appreciate your support! Now, it is crucial to spread the word about
the project throughout the community. I know that many of you are not
in Oregon, but as the Pluma Project is an online forum, anyone anywhere
can contribute to its success. Please take the time to forward
information to your friends, coworkers, or anyone you think would be
interested in supporting the written and painted movement against
violence towards women.
If any of you in the Eugene area would
like to take a bigger step, I will need lots of help speaking out to
high school students, latina women, homeless and imprisoned women,
elderly women and students. There is a lot of face-to-face work to be
accomplished, and if you want to volunteer with this effort, please let
me know!
If any of you know someone that wants to contribute work to the site, have them send it to plumaproject@yahoo.com
Thank you again!
